Mohammed Shami Gives A Reply To Amit Shah’s Parody Twitter Account

Senior India fast bowler Mohammed Shami’s reply to a parody Twitter account of Amit Shah, India’s Minister of Home Affairs, has gone viral.

Mohammed Shami recently underwent surgery on his ankle. He uploaded pictures after his operation and updated his fans on his status. The 33-year-old fast bowler received a lot of support and wishes from everyone on social media.

Shami tweeted: “Hello everyone! I wanted to provide an update on my recovery progress. It has been 15 days since my surgery, and I recently had my stitches removed. I am thankful for the advancements I have achieved and looking forward to the next stage of my healing journey.”

Amid this, there was a parody account of Amit Shah, who is the right-hand man of India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Mohammed Shami gave a reply to this, apparently thinking that the tweet was from Shah himself. Amit Shah is also the father of the BCCI Secretary Jay Shah.

The parody account of Amit Shah wished him a speedy recovery, to which Shami replied with “Thank you so much sir”

Mohammed Shami ruled out of IPL 2024

It was long confirmed that Mohammed Shami will miss the entire IPL 2024 due to his heel injury and its consequent surgery. He was the leading wicket-taker last year in both IPL 2023 and World Cup 2023, however, his teams – Gujarat Titans and India – lost the finals of both tournaments.

Gujarat Titans have not yet announced a replacement for Mohammed Shami.

The fast bowler had played the World Cup with pain in his ankle and heel and has since been out of action. He rehabbed for three months at the NCA in Bangalore and was positive about making a return either in the England Test series or in the IPL. However, his injury had aggravated to such an extent that he needed surgery and thus will now miss the IPL 2024 and the T20 World Cup 2024.
