Irfan Pathan Made A Big Prediction About Virat Kohli

Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan said that batting maestro Virat Kohli will have the second-best season of his IPL career when he will make a return to play for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

Virat Kohli has been missing in action since January. He recently missed the 5-match Test series against England as he became a father to a second child with wife Anushka Sharma.

Irfan Pathan Made A Big Prediction About Virat Kohli

Irfan Pathan feels that the two-month break before the IPL 2024 would keep Kohli ‘fresh’ and could make him a massive threat for the opposition teams to deal with. Pathan said that Virat has every chance of nearly repeating his stellar run in 2016.

For the unversed, Virat Kohli set the record for most runs in a single IPL season 8 years ago after he hammered 973 runs from 16 matches at an average of 81.08 and a strike-rate of 152.03 with 4 hundreds and 7 fifties to his name.

Speaking in a Star Sports’ Press Meet on Friday, Pathan said: “First of all, he will be fresh. Guys like Virat Kohli, who is so fit, can be very dangerous for oppositions. He will be looking forward to playing in the IPL. I personally feel that he will have the second-best season of his life after 2016,”

He added: “After that, it has been a roller-coaster as far as his performances are concerned. He did not perform as much for two years, although he scored runs,”

But now, if you look, the way he played the game against Pakistan in Australia (T20 World Cup 2022) and performed throughout. I am sure he is going to be doing close to what he did the best in 2016. So, I feel, he will have a great season, and he will be raring to go for RCB,”

Virat Kohli is likely to be next seen in action when his team RCB will lock horns with MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings in the opening clash of IPL 2024 on March 22nd at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
