CMG signs strategic cooperation agreement with Yoshimoto Kogyo Co.

China Media Group (CMG) has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Japan’s Yoshimoto Kogyo Co. Ltd., aiming to deepen collaboration in program content, strengthen media technology research and development, and expand personnel exchanges.

In recent years, CMG has maintained a good cooperative relationship with Yoshimoto Kogyo, said Xing Bo, vice president of CMG, when she attended the signing ceremony with Yoshimoto Kogyo President Akihiko Okamoto in Tokyo on Thursday. 

Through a diverse range of program formats, CMG has created numerous popular internet celebrity intellectual properties (IPs) that are appreciated both domestically and internationally, allowing more audiences to understand China’s rapid development, Xing said.

She expects that both CMG and Yoshimoto Kogyo, one of Japan’s largest entertainment companies, will strengthen cooperation in the cultural industry, enrich the content of Sino-Japanese cultural exchanges through the power of the media, leverage the advantages of both sides to jointly produce high-quality programs, disseminate them through diverse platforms, and enhance the influence and dissemination power of internet celebrity IPs.

CMG and Yoshimoto Kogyo have achieved significant success in their collaboration on program production, Okamoto said, adding that jointly produced programs have garnered widespread popularity among Japanese audiences upon their broadcast, receiving positive feedback. 

He said Yoshimoto Kogyo looks forward to collaborating with CMG on the planning and production of future programs, aiming to provide more audiences with a lively and engaging understanding of the charm of contemporary China through dynamic program content.

According to the cooperation agreement, both parties will further deepen their collaboration in various areas, including joint production of programs, research and application of new media technology, introduction and operation of copyrights.
