China Media Group held its first event celebrating China’s domestic brands in Beijing on Wednesday, with awards being presented to companies ranging from home appliance manufacturers and dairy product producers to online retailers for the stellar contributions their brands have made to the country’s economy.

The event, attended by senior executives from popular brands such as Gree Electric, Xiaomi and PDD, aimed to showcase the overall lineup and strength of domestic trendy products, build core competitiveness, shape brand influence and create a positive atmosphere of societal attention to domestic trendy brands, according to CMG.

It was also designed to foster the growth of new consumption trends and promote high-quality growth of the Chinese economy, goals that are in line with what the 2023 Central Economic Work Conference has set out to achieve.

The ceremony released reports assessing trends for domestic brands’ ability to innovate, go global and improve people’s living standards.

Trendy domestic brands have been experiencing significant and dynamic growth in China in recent years. From the popularity of cultural and creative products inspired by the Forbidden City to the continuous innovation of traditional brand names, an increasing number of new products and formats are integrating Chinese and trendy elements. These products have experienced booming sales, and the brands have grown significantly, becoming an important force in driving consumption and expanding domestic demand.

The event deepened CMG’s “5G+4K/8K+AI” technical innovation requirements, introducing a main stage featuring naked-eye 3D technology. It showcased the beauty of domestic brands, providing the audience with an immersive visual feast.
