Chinese vice premier meets U.S. Treasury official in Beijing

Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng said on Tuesday that China and the United States should deepen exchanges and cooperation via the China-U.S. economic working group to stabilize and develop bilateral economic ties.

He Lifeng, also the Chinese lead person for China-U.S. economic and trade affairs, made the remarks during a meeting with a delegation led by Jay Shambaugh, U.S. Treasury under secretary for international affairs, who is in Beijing for the third meeting of the China-U.S. economic working group.

The vice premier called on the two sides to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state at their San Francisco meeting and continue to make good use of the channels of the China-U.S. economic working group to deepen exchanges and cooperation.

He also urged efforts to enhance consensus, accumulate results, and stabilize and develop the bilateral economic relationship to bring more benefits to enterprises and the people of the two countries.
