2 Reasons Why Virat Kohli Should Be Made Test Captain Again

2 Reasons Why Virat Kohli Should Be Made Test Captain Again – After India’s crashing defeat against England in the first Test, questions came raining on the captaincy of Rohit Sharma who had his own set of struggles against the Three Lions. Suffering two home defeats at home from seven matches captained, Rohit’s credibility as a Test skipper has hot a new low and this is something that will be giving the Indian skipper nightmares.

Fans have started asking questions about why the Indian cricket team is not opting for someone who has been way more experienced in terms of leading the team in Test cricket and has a lot more success than Rohit too, none other than the numero uno, Virat Kohli. So is it wise to bring VK as a skipper? Here are two reasons why he must be brought back into the pack as the captain of the Test team.

#1 Brave enough to try the impossible

In the first match that India went down fighting, things started looking bleak for the hosts. Rohit couldn’t bring about any change when Ollie Pope continued his charge. In fact, being honest the basic attempt to do something different with a different bowling option or maybe a part-timer coming in, that never occurred to Rohit. This is where Virat excels.

#2 Aggressive captaincy

Virat Kohli’s introduction as a captain came when India was struggling to win overseas. The very first time he almost sealed the fate of the game with a heroic knock but then eventually ran short of support. India needs someone who will pay back England in the same coin and not just heap praises on the English heroics. Hence, Virat Kohli.

Now obviously this can go different too but let’s face it, VK’s numbers at home are almost invincible where he played 31 matches as a skipper and has lost just two of the games. Also he embraces the youth with arms wide open. That means with the current transitional phase that India is in, VK is building an empire.
